Getting Started

  1. Explore the Home Page
  • Read the short introduction to FRELiP and use the main links to reach Journal Feeds, Resources and About Us.
  1. Using the Open Access Journal Feeds
  • Choose a subject area to see current articles.
  • Click on an article title to read the abstract and follow the link to the full text.
  1. Finding Books and Other Resources
  • Until OA Book Search and the Discovery Service are fully launched, follow links from Resources and Research Guides (as they become available) to external platforms.

Understanding Service Status

FRELiP is a growing platform. Some services are live, while others are still under development:

  • Live: Open Access Journal Feeds and core information pages (About, Resources, Services, Donation and Support).
  • In Progress: Discovery Service, Research Guides and OA Book Search.

These in-progress initiatives are clearly labelled across the site so that users know what is available now and what is being built for the future.

 

Guides and Tutorials

FRELiP will gradually publish short guides to help users:

  • Understand the basics of open access and open educational resources.
  • Use RSS feeds and (when available) subject/journal subscriptions.
  • Search effectively using the Discovery Service (once launched).
  • Evaluate and cite open access materials responsibly.

Reporting Problems

Users are encouraged to help improve the portal by reporting issues such as:

  • Broken or outdated links to external resources.
  • Problems with page loading or display.
  • Errors in bibliographic information.

Feedback can be submitted using the online feedback or “Report a Problem” form linked from this page.

Staying Informed

  • Check the Home page and this Support page for announcements about new features.
  • Consider subscribing to FRELiP news or update channels where available.
