Offline Deployment
All four FRELIP platforms can be deployed as a self-contained offline system using our Docker-based deployment stack. This is ideal for:
- Schools and libraries without reliable internet
- Community centers in remote areas
- Workshops and training events
- Emergency education situations
The offline stack runs on hardware as modest as a Raspberry Pi 4 (2-4 GB RAM) and can serve 30-500 concurrent users depending on the hardware. When internet becomes available, the system syncs with our central servers for content updates.
For Developers
FRELIP is built entirely with open-source technologies. Developers can:
- Contribute to our GitHub repositories
- Deploy custom instances using our Docker Compose stack
- Extend functionality via WordPress plugins, Moodle modules, or VuFind drivers
- Access APIs for integration with other systems
