FRELIP (Free eLibrary Portal) is a free, non-profit open-access discovery service. We designed our apps to respect your privacy. In short: we do not collect or share your personal data.
Information we do NOT collect
- No account or login is required to browse or search.
- We do not collect your name, email, location, contacts, or device identifiers.
- We do not use advertising or third-party analytics SDKs in this version.
Data stored on your device
Articles you choose to Save, and content cached for offline reading, are stored only on your device. This data is never uploaded. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes it.
Network requests
To show open-access content, the apps fetch public data over HTTPS from FRELIP services (frelip.org and search.frelip.org). These requests carry no personal information beyond what any web request includes (e.g., your IP address, handled by our servers for normal operation and security). We do not build user profiles.
Children
The apps contain scholarly open-access content and are suitable for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone.
